It is employed as a strong organic alkali, organic intermediate, in soap and cosmetic products, and in the textile industry. It is also used to make fine chemicals and in consumer hair relaxer products. It is used in various industries to solve different purpose such as cosmetics as a hair relaxer that straightens hair by chemically uncurling it, detergents as a synergistic agent, pharmaceuticals as an antibiotic and microencapsulation process for carbonless paper.
